A Glimpse of Me

February 26, 2006

Lately a few friends of mine have told me that I don’t reveal enough of my personal feeling on this here blog. So I sat to them I am not an open book, I will in fact answer any question honestly if you ask. Since you folks asked me to reveal some stuff I will. I hope this helps them get to know me a little better

Here is a look into my TV viewing schedule for a week :D
Monday:
I have found myself liking this show the more I watch it. The show I am speaking of is Related. I find myself wanting to be one of these sisters. I find myself laughing out loud at some of the things said and done on this show.

Tuesday:
Now that it is back American Idol will fill the 7pm time slot. I have been a fan since season one and probably will be a fan until it no longer airs.
I used to watch Gilmore Girls they will now be DVR’d to be viewed at a later day. I don’t know I started watching in season one and now I am hooked. Don’t know when or how it happened but it did. Maybe it happened when NYPD Blue Finaled nah because NYPD Blue came on after Gilmore Girls on a different station. Anyway I am hooked and I make no apologies for it.

Wednesday:
Will now be filled with the American Idol results show followed by One Tree Hill. Yes I watch this show about teenagers making their way in the world. Hell my high school experiences weren’t nearly as fun or had as much angst as their do. (more…)

Blogged-Up

February 23, 2006

Ok so here’s the deal. I had a really good blog topic lastnight. I kept replaying the first few lines of the post in head because I was too lazy to get up and find a pen. So I said it over and over about 3 or 4 times and then I made a mental note to remember it. Well as you can see, that didn’t work. Well hopefully something will come to me soon. Until then enjoy the other posts.

The Burning Question

February 19, 2006

Ok so here’s the deal. A Friend of mine recently fixed me up with one of here co-workers. While I am not a big fan of blind dates, so far I have had zero success; I am open to the idea. So me and dude were talking on the phone getting to know each other before the big date. We talked about the customary things like religious affiliation, family, our work and finally past relationships. Then it happened, he asked me to most loaded question I could get asked. “Why are you single?” He didn’t say it accusatory but I felt like he was acussing me of something. After I take a second, being careful not to take to long, because I didn’t want him to think I was thinking up a lie, but I was really taken aback about how to answer. Hell, why was I still single? I mean I am not some crazy stalking psycho chick. (more…)

UPN/WB Downsizing Part II

February 16, 2006

Ok so the first round of Pink slips was handed out without hesitation (First Round). At the end of that post I told more Pink slips were to come. Well here is round two.

This child should have stuck to rapping because acting was not in the cards for her. I will be glad when to powers that be stop putting these actors and singers in movies and tv shows. Rapping and singing does not equate to good acting. Some things should be left to the professionals.

The next slip goes toOk so I like Holly Robinson and would love to see her finally find her niche. But who the hell thought up the premise of this show. Here is the shows plot in a nutshell, the antics of a group of folks that work for a match making service. Of course they have to typical cast of characters, the debutante, the dumb *insert hair color here*, the nerdy guy, who has some underlying chemistry with one of the hot chicks, the smart chick and the uptight chick. Of the one episode I saw there is absolutely no chemistry.

Twins is just …just …a dumb show with no plot. Sara Gilbert would have done better to stay on ER who by the way is in its last season I hope.

Living with Fran…nothing can be said about this show but Fran Dressher and that annoying ass voice… it’s like nails across a chalk board.

Well that is it for my definite cuts. There are some shows on both stations that I have yet to see or no longer watch. So the jury is still out on those. There are also some shows on these channels that I don’t want to admit that I watch but I will in another blog, at another time. Until then. Enjoy the shows while you can.

A VALENTINE`S DAY POEM

February 14, 2006

Hearts and roses and kisses galore
What the hell is that sh*t for
People get mushy and start acting queer
Its gotta be the most annoying day of the year
This day needs to get the hell over with and pass
Before I shove a dozen roses up Cupid`s *ss!

I`ll spend the day so drunk I can`t speak,
And wear all black for the rest of the week.
Guys act all sweet, but it soon will
fade,
For all they are doing is trying to get laid.
The arrow Cupid shot at me must not have hit,
Because I think love is a crock of sh*t!
So heres my story, what else can I say?
Love bites my *ss…f*ck Valentine`s Day!

One plus One equals, uhh One?

Ok so sometime last month it was announced that UPN and the WB channels will be combing to form a new station call CW. This was so confusing to me in so many ways. First when did UPN + WB = CW *confused* Second how is the programming going to be handled. I mean UPN has most of OUR, black folks, shows or as the other folks like to term it, more URBAN programing, while, the WB’s show were more for your white folks. So I guess now we will get show like Gilmore Girlfriends, Everwood hates Chris, or One on One Tree Hill. You get my meaning. Technically we really only had one night on UPN so maybe this move won’t affect us to badly. But just like any merger of two big or in this little companies, there are going to be some cuts. Since the we have until the end of this yea before the merger happens, I’ve decided to take a stab at handing out PINK SLIPS

Here are my recommendations for PINK SLIPS:

All of Us this show really sucked big time. At least Elise Neal was smart enough to leave and not try to hold on like Dwayne Martin and Lisa Raye. I am not sure if that was how Jada and Will did it with Sheree but this show sucked from day one.
Next is a double hitter even more convenient is that they air right behind each other, One on One and Cuts. Really Kyla stick to Penny Proud and movies becuase you punkin Arnaz is not cute. One on One was cool for a while once they toned down Kyla’s smart ass mouth, most black folks wouldn’t tolerate a 13 yearl old kid, at the time, talking the way she did, and once they made Robert Ri’Chard, Arnaz, and look manlier and not so gay, yep he was looking a lil sweet. After these changes the show was actually tolerable. Now that Brianna, Kyla, has graduated which by the way is the typical end to a show with a kid as the star, we are being subjected to the stellar acting skills of the Rich Thug Ray J., need I say more? And Cuts is just stupid nuff said.
Next one is 7th Heaven; since they are ending their eleven year run and all the kids are grown (This one really doesn’t count). Any hey whose family is really like that anyway especially a PK (preacher’s kid)?
Next on the chopping block is Charmed, as much as I’ve loved this show in the past, it really isn’t that good now. There are too many new characters and not enough juicy story lines. I believe the show has run its course. Besides I still miss Prue, Shannon Doherty, and the bad girl dynamic she brought to the show.
Well this is the end of Part one since my meds are kicking in. In Part Two there will be more cuts.

HERE WE GO PITTSBURG, HERE WE GO!!

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!

February 4, 2006

Yes, this Sunday will mark Super Bowl XL and the trash talking has already begun. Not that Super bowl games are the most exciting games you will see. Mostly they are low scoring, usually one sided games, but that still doesn’t deter folks from watching it. Not even the fact that Super bowl is on a Sunday, and most folks have to be at work bright and early Monday morning, is a deterrent. Folks have placed their respective wagers on who the winner will be or they’ve bought their squares on the football gambling pots. I, like most of the folks watching the game, will be looking forward to the commercials that will be unveiled, which lately have sucked. I will be with the rest of football loving America, watching the game, eating some food, drinking some drinks and playing games with friends and friends of friends. I will be rooting the Pittsburgh Steelers, this man and watching this woman, his number one fan
Jerome Bettis and Mrs. Gladys Bettis
, his mother, Momma Bettis as she is affectionately called in the media. If you have watched any of the Steelers games then you know that she is his ultimate cheerleader. She is a testament of a proud momma.

So Get Ready For Some Football and have fun on SUPER BOWL SUNDAY and be safe.
