My Thoughts

I recently bought and watched CRASH on DVD and I can see why Will was so impressed with the movie. It was an excellent movie that should spark a lot of discussion. As a matter of fact, my friend /co-worker and I had a discussion about the movie ourselves. He thought that the white folks in the movie came out looking better than the black folks. He felt that the feelings expressed by Sandra Bullock’s character were the feelings felt by most folks watching the movie. He even thought that Matt Dillon’s character, the racist cop, came out looking better. He felt that although, Matt’s character had prejudiced feelings for blacks or minorities, he still saved Thandie Newton from the fiery wreck which in essence showed that he had a good heart. I must say I didn’t even think about it that way until after I talked to him. I don’t really agree with him on all his points because to me the only person that came out looking good was the Hispanic guy. He didn’t show any prejudiced feeling nor did he do anything negative all he did was his job and that got him insulted and him and his daughter damn near killed.
